Oui Please... Most definitely

I've been doing the subscription box thing for a while- some I've kept, like Fabfitfun, Yuzen, Nina Garcia's Quarterly Box, and Popsugar, others I've grown bored with and have cancelled, like Birchbox, Glossybox, Ipsy, Wantables, Sample Society, etc. Recently I stumbled a new subscription box that I just had to try- Oui Please.  At first glance the subscription seemed a bit pricey for a mixture of surprise items, but after reading some of the reviews from others who had subscribed and received the box the cost seemed totally worth it. Usually subscription boxes receive mixed reviews, but the majority of this box's reviews, from what I could see, were rave reviews. So I headed over to the website and signed up for their flagship box called "Vol. 1.1 Paris, I miss you".

My box was to be delivered Friday by Fed-Ex. However, when I came home Friday evening I found a door tag from Fed-Ex-my box needed a direct signature to be released. As disappointed as I was that I wouldn't be spending my Friday night opening my box, I realized that the value must be extremely high for them to require a signature. I spent rest of the night reading others reviews on their boxes, and imagining what might be in mine. I couldn't wait!!

I woke up early Saturday and the suspense was killing me. If the door tag delivery time from the day before was any indication, a second deliver attempt would be around 10:30 A.M. I patiently waited around the house, finding things to keep me busy until my box arrived. Soon there was a knock on my door and the delivery man was standing there holding a beautiful black box from Oui Please.  I quickly signed for it and ran inside to see what I was sent.

The first thing I noticed was that the box was much heavier than I had expected.   Most subscription boxes weight less than 5lbs, this box was clearly over that!  I must say Oui Please has the most elegant wrapping! Just unboxing it you know you're in for something amazing, and what was inside did not disappoint!!
Vol. 1.1 Paris I Miss You
1951 Maison Française Leather Clutch in Brown (XL with chain) $100
Christian Lacroix Leatherbound 2015 Dated Diary $30, Dame D Necklace $45, Tassia Canellis Earrings in white $45
Charlotte Sometime Leather Wallet in Brown $40, Popup Scented Candle in Desert Storm $35
Marlette Cereal Bars with Figs and Apricots $10, Maison de la Truffe Grey Salt from Guérande with Summer Truffle $25, Le Bénéfique Tea Springs $5
Atelier Cologne Vanilla Insensée $25, Sothys Morning Cleanser $33, Sothys Desquacream $34, Myriam K Anti-Frizz Serum $50
Complimentary copy of the latest issue of "Et Voila" magazine.  Inside you'll find simple French recipes, style advice, interviews, lifestyle pieces, and discover the full range of current products that were distributed throughout that volume's box.
Total Value= $477!!!
I don't think I've ever received such luxurious, amazing things in one box before. Typically subscription boxes have one or two items to covet and the rest are so-so. This box was full of things I coveted, none of which was so-so.

It's not often that I can say the price justifies the take away, as far as subscription boxes are concerned, but with this box it's more than justified! Although this is their flagship box, Oui Please hit it out of the park!! I'm beyond impressed and there is no way this box is ending up on my cancel list!!

It should be noted that this subscription is not monthly-it comes every two months.  Each box features a different region of France, and features a unique selection of full sized French products- unlike most subscription boxes that only offer samples, or deluxe samples.  This volume was all about Paris, next volume features Normandie. Oui Please offers three different membership options: Single parcel $175, Month-to-month $150, or Annual pre-paid $650.

The excitement for my next box is already high, and waiting for it to be delivered will be torture, but from my impression of this box, the wait is totally worth it! Sadly, for those of you who are interested in the Vol. 1.1 Paris, I Miss You box, it is too late to subscribe but it's not too late to subscribe for next months box, Vol. 1.2 Dreaming of Normadie, sohead over to Oui Please and sign up!! I promise you won't be disappointed!!  I've embedded the link to Oui Please throughout this post, so just click on their name and you'll be right where you need to be.

Popsugar May 2014 Box Review

Popsugar is a monthly beauty and lifestyle box subscription which costs $39.95 (which includes free shipping). I have been a subscriber of Popsugar since February and it is one of my favorite boxes!!

Each month Popsugar fills it's boxes with the most coveted products, as well as new products (some of which have yet to be released), all designed to pamper you and make you the best version of yourself.

Each box comes with a fold out card detailing the products inside your Popsugar box.

I heard a lot of subscribers talking how their dislike of this product being included in their Popsugar box, and while it is not a high priced item it is a beneficial one- bikini season is upon us and Popsugar isn't just about beauty, it's also about fitness and lifestyle. Getting people working out is no easy chore so I think Popsugar included this in our box because everyone wants to look great for bikini season, and we all have thirty minutes at home to bust out a move or two. I'm a workout person so you won't hear any complaints from me about this product being included in my box, in face I'm excited to try a workout outside of what I've already been doing.

I love this sleep mask but I will probably toss it in the gift pile or save it for trips. I'm the type of person who has to fall asleep with the TV on, bad I know LOL, so this mask would likely keep me up rather than lull me to sleep. It might come in handy when I travel but since I don't travel as much as I like I may check with a few friends to see if they might put this to better, and more frequent use than me.

I am not a fan of onions so I wasn't sure how I would like these but they're delicious!! Like some subscribers (I was reading about) I ate mine quickly; however, it took me around a week, while others devoured them in one sitting. I don't really eat chips or chip-like foods such as this but in the future if I get a craving I will definitely seek out this brand!

I LOVE this perfume!! This product alone made me stalk my Popsugar tracking info. Some subscribers didn't like the smell, saying it smells too much like sunscreen, but I think it smells lovely and by the amount of compliments I received on it so far, so do others. I will definitely be purchasing this once my free bottle runs out.

I have been eyeing these water bottles and have been wanting to try one out but hadn't pulled the trigger and bought one yet- good thing because Popsugar hooked me up!! The instructions say you can also use strawberries so I am excited to try a few different fruit-infused blends!

I was unaware of this brand prior to receiving it in my box but the review I have been reading are amazing. If you want chip proof nails this seems to be your go-to polish! It's a little opaque with just one coat, so for full coverage make sure to apply two, and then your good to go- no top coat is needed, though you can add one if you wish, and because this polish is quick drying, you won't need to worry about messing up your polish when you're running out the door.

While some subscribers were disappointed in their box, I was happy with mine. Popsugar always has a nice blend of beauty and lifestyle products, all of which, except for the sleeping mask, I will use.

What do you think of May's Popsugar box?

Birchbox May 2014 Review

Birchbox is a monthly subscription which costs $10.00.  Each monthly box is filled with samples from amazing brands-some samples are even deluxe size.  Birchbox wants you to get the most out of your subscription so they have devised a subscription profile so your box can be customized to what works best for your lifestyle, skin type, etc.  I have been a subscriber of Birchbox for since February and LOVE their boxes, as well as their products- so much so that in a few short months I have acheived "Ace Status"  For this review I will be discussing my May Birchbox, which has a Kate Spade Saturday Theme.  This month, in celebration of the Kate Spade collaboration, Birchbox also offered her "Saturday Sliding Mirror Necklace" for a special price ($20 to add on to your box, $45.00 if you purchase the necklace without the box). Because I love all things Birchbox, you know I had to get the extra add on!!
Birchbox always has great wrapping but I'm especially obsessing over this months wrapping- it is a Kate Spade theme as well!! (Is it sad that I carefully removed all the stickers from the tissue and lined wrapping so that I could reuse it?!? LOL!!  It was just too beautiful to toss!!)

Each box contains a card detailing the products included inside the box, what the product is/does, why Birchbox chose it, and how much the full size product is.  I love these cards because it makes it easy to track what I love about my box, meaning what I want to purchase, and what I don't like and don't want to purchase (which is rarely the case).  I put a little check by what I want to purchase, so that way it is easy to reference later when I'm shopping around the Birchbox site.

I received Beauty Protector's  Protect and Detangle Spray a few boxes ago and LOVED it!!  So I was super excited to get samples of Beauty Protector shampoo and conditioner to try out!!  First impression, these smell just as amazing as the detangling spray!!  Second impression (after using them), my hair feels AMAZING!!  I will definitely be purchasing both of these from Birchbox!!  This shampoo and conditioner is great because it contains ingredients that helps shield hair from the harshness of heat styling and also  from environmental damage.  Normally you can only get this kind protection from heat protecting sprays, so it's awesome that the entire  Beauty Protector line has products which protect- that way you aren't stuck using a spray if the spray isn't for you.

Prior to this box I had never heard of this brand but was very eager to try it out!!  I used it this morning before work and not only liked the design of it (using pencils or pencil-like designs on lips are super easy and fast to apply) but also loved that the color was buildable- meaning I could have just a little pop of color for work/daytime, and add a few more layers to have a bolder lip for evening/nighttime.  I also like the size of this product (a BIG thanks to Birchbox!! This month have given us a full-size version  of this product rather than a sample).

I have heard other Birchbox subscribers rave about Supergoop! but I've never had the opportunity to try it for myself.  I slapped some on this morning before my makeup routine and found Supergoop! to be easy to apply, while still providing full coverage and protection from the sun.  Right now the Birchbox store is sold out of the full size version, so I have placed myself on the waiting list- with summer here this will be my beach must have!!

When I found out I would be receiving these I was over the moon!!  I have seen these in the Birchbox store and have been dying to try them!!  They are basically Pop Rocks but in breath mint form!!  How fun is that!! They come in three flavors: Honey Mint, Lemon Mint and Spearmint- in my box I have Lemon Mint and Spearmint.  I tried some this morning after my breakfast (the Spearmint package) and they did not disappoint- they freshened my mouth as stated but also provided a little fun while doing so.

Because this month's Birchbox is a Kate Spade collaboration they have included a $25.00 coupon code for Kate Spade Saturday stores or Saturday.com (Kate Spade's online Saturday store).

I have been eyeing this necklace in the Birchbox store for a LONG time!!  When I received an email from Birchbox telling me that I could add it to my May box for only $20.00 I had to jump on the opportunity.  I am so happy I did- the length is great (28 inches), and there are two mirrors facing each other, so no matter which side faces you, you will have a view of a mirror.  For it's size, this necklace is very lightweight and stylish.  A must have in my book!!

As always I'm loving my monthly Birchbox!!  While there were not a  lot of items in my box this month, what was included were either full size products or deluxe samples, so for $10.00 a box you can't go wrong!! One of the best things about Birchbox is that each subscriber gets the opportunity to go to the Birchbox site and review the products in their box- as a thank you Birchbox gives each review 10 points (100 points equals $10.00 in the Birchbox store).

What do you think of the May Birchbox?
