May's 2014 Golden Tote Revealed

Over the past few months I have watched other bloggers rave about their experiences with Golden Tote, and finally broke down and treated myself to one- May will be my first time receiving it.  Golden Tote offers two different tote options: the $49.00 tote, or the $149.00 tote.  I chose the $149.00 tote.  Golden Tote has special offer running this week allowing you to purchase anything in the boutique for the original "ad on" price so I decided to take them up on that, and purchased an additional piece.

Since this will be my first month with Golden Tote, I am not sure exactly when it ships, and because I was excited to share the news with all of you about my new score I couldn't wait for it's arrival to show you what I picked out so I decided to add some pictures here of what I chose.  When the tote arrives I will do a review on the pieces that Golden Tote chose for me, as well as my chosen pieces.  But for now here's a sneak peek at my tote:

Those are the outfits I chose for my May $149.00 tote.  I also took Golden Tote up on their special offer, and chose this outfit as my "add on":

While I was browsing for my tote picks and "add on" I noticed a dress from last month that I had been coveting, and hating myself for not ordering, came back in stock, so I added that to my order as well. Because I had already used my "add on" I paid full price for this dress.

In case you are unfamiliar with Golden Tote, here is a little breakdown to explain it:

Golden Tote launches new sales the first Monday of every  month.  Inventory is first come first serve, and trust me you want to get there early because each month is always a sell out.  There have been a few months where I decided I wanted to order a tote, but because I waited too long (and by "too long" I mean maybe a week after the new sale launched) and everything was gone- not just not in my size, but sold out completely.  If I can offer some advice for scoring with Golden Tote it would be this. Stalk the website for sneak peaks of the new sale, and make sure to sign up for their newsletter- that way you will always be up on whats going on with Golden Tote and won't miss out!!

Each month Golden Tote offers two different bags:

• $49.00 Tote: which includes 2-3 items and is worth up to a $250.00 value.  With the $49.00 tote you choose 1 item from the boutique and Golden Tote surprises you with the rest.
• $149.00 Tote: which includes 5-7 items and is worth up to a $600.00 value.  With the $149.00 tote you choose 2 items and Golden Tote surprises you with the rest.

If giving up control and letting someone else choose the remaining items in your tote gives you anxiety don't worry, Golden Tote doesn't fly blind on this- when you sign up you will fill out a short style survey, to make sure that you get things tailored to your preferences.  Golden Tote is an "all or nothing" subscription.  Golden Tote allows returns but you must return the entire tote, not just one or two pieces.
