Umba Delight Box Review: May 2014

Umba is a monthly subscription which comes in two versions- the Delight Box which costs $49.99 or the Discovery Box which cost $25.00.  When you purchase a subscription it is for a three month minimum, after that you can choose to cancel or to renew your subscription.

I was a little nervous going with the bigger priced subscription but I went ahead and subscribed to the Delight Box. I before I purchased I searched for past reviews on both boxes but only found a few on the Discovery Box, I couldn't find any on the Delight Box. I liked what I saw in the Discovery Boxes so I figured if they were good the Discovery Box would be too. I was anxious to get my box but did not get a shipping notification, so I was unsure as to when it would show up. I came home today and presto! it was here!!

At first glance the box was a big shape but not very deep and very light. I figured it was some artwork or possibly stationary. I love both those things but would never use the stationary and already have my house furnished so my heart sank a little thinking of what might be inside- whether I'd like it or whether my long wait would result in another gift pile toss.

Basik 885 Natasha Bag $69.00
And I'm in LOVE!! This bag is beautiful!! I love the chevron print of the bag paired with the metallic, striped, and slightly distressed top!! I don't really carry clutched often but with such a beautiful bag I was going to make it a point to start...

Until I opened up the bag and found a metallic chain- long enough to make it a cross body bag and light enough to fit inside making it a clutch without weigh in it down with the hardware!! And if you so choose you can even remove the chain altogether!! I'm in purse heaven!!!

Probably the best part of this box is the story that comes along with the bag. Each Umba Box features products that are handmade and benefit a specific group of society- some in the U.S, some abroad.

I'm not going to lie, this subscription gave me anxiety. Not only was there little to no reviews on either box but not knowing when it would ship added to the anxiety and possible buyers remorse- but in the end it was worth the wait and the worry. This is only my first month with Umba so I am still testing them out to see if I want to continue to subscribed after my three month obligation is up, but if I keep receiving awesome products like I got in this box, I'm considering them a keeper.

What do you think about Umba's May Delight Box?
